The Uncontrolled Tongue

“But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.” (James 3:12) The tongue can be tamed by submission to the will of God. First, Christ must be received as Savior. Without Him the life will be without pilot or governor. Second, the life in Christ must be guided by the indwelling Holy Spirit. The only hope of control of the tongue is in Christ the Spirit of God.

Salvation is of God through Jesus Christ

Because of man’s inborn sinful nature causing him to depend upon himself, he insists upon contributing something to his own salvation. It is the hardest thing for man to learn that he cannot do so. That is undoubtedly why the Bible at every point reiterates the fact that, that which is done in salvation is of God- God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

America’s Challenges

Where is America in history today?
Although America has a rich spiritual heritage, our nation still faces its share of challenges. The life of Nehemiah provides a valuable lesson of how prayer can heal a country. Nehemiah was in Persia serving as the cup bearer for king Artaxerxes. After finding out that his home city of Jerusalem was in shambles, Nehemiah became very sad...

Our Mission

“To inspire, encourage, educate, and change lives by communicating God’s truth and connect people to God’s work through Grace Baptist Church programs.

Are you looking for a home church where you and your family can grow spiritually in the Lord?

GBC can help you anchor for the storms of life that will come. What do you do when the storms of life beat down on your life? To whom do you turn? Where do you seek comfort and security during such tumultuous times?

When you learn to place your anchor firmly in the Lord Jesus Christ you will be able to ride out the storms of life because you are not alone. Grace Baptist Church seeks to help you through these tumultuous times of your life. We all know that these storms come and go unexpectedly throughout our lives. And yet, even though life tries to keep us off-balance, scripture assures us that we can maintain a steady footing regardless of the circumstances”

If your life is empty it can be filled to overflowing.
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” ( II Corinthians 5:17 )

Rev. Dr. Lawrence S. Thompson

Get Involved
Trusting that you will get involved and be an integral part of this sanctified ministry. Your time, efforts, prayers, and gifts truly will make a difference in many lives who look to this ministry for their spiritual and physical need. If you can touch a person’s life with God’s love, you can change the world. Many times the Holy Spirit prompted our hearts to do something the Lord is directing us to do, but we fail to recognize and obey His voice. Recognizing God’s voice is very important. As Christians we must learn to differentiate His voice from the devils. This is where spiritual discernment comes in to play. Cultivating spiritual discernment invites God to be intimately involved in all of our decisions we make each day. As we develop a habit of following His promptings, our senses become trained to distinguish good from evil, and we become more spiritually mature. Notice how Hebrews 5:14, explained it for us: The Bible said:

Let’s Socialize

How Secure Are You?
Circumstances in life can change in a heartbeat. An alarming doctor’s report or the loss a loved one can threaten your peace and joy and cause your world to crumble. However, you can live courageously by focusing on God’s unfailing love. We must remember that Christianity is a battle-not a dream. Have you ever felt frustrated by the inadequacy of your Christian walk? Believe it or not you can benefit from your frustration. When you allow your frustration to do a work in your life, it will lead you to greater dependency on God, and your life will experience His awesome love.
